Privacy policy

PDFjojo is built for temporary PDF processing. You do not need an account to use the free tools.

Files

Files are automatically deleted after processing. Default retention is two hours for uploads, processing files and results, and about one hour for failed jobs. Anonymous users do not receive permanent document storage.

Many tools — including Edit PDF, Sign PDF, Split, Rotate and image-to-PDF — run entirely in your browser so the file may never leave your device. When a tool needs the server (OCR, Office conversion, Ghostscript compression, qpdf encryption), the file is stored outside the web root and removed by the cleanup job.

What we collect

We do not need your name, address book or document contents to run free tools. Usage counters store tool names and hashed, short-lived identifiers for rate limiting — not advertising profiles.

Accounts

If you create an optional account, we store your email and a hashed password. Passwords are never stored in plaintext.

Cookies and sessions

Session cookies keep you logged in when you use an account and protect forms with CSRF tokens. They are not used to sell personal data.

Honesty about security

No online service can honestly promise that files are 100% secure. If a document is highly confidential, prefer a local application or a browser-only tool and decide whether you are comfortable uploading it.
